![]() ![]() As far as Green Lantern: Beware My Power’s inclusion of the Sinestro Corps in general though, that came about from one of the movie’s character designers wanting to use these agents of fear rather than just have Sinestro command some generic bounty hunters. The Despero story Butch Lukic is referring to is the Justice League two-parter “Heart and Minds,” which saw the Keith David-voiced version of the character using the Flame of Py’tar to defeat multiple Green Lanterns. Sometimes I felt, ‘Well, it’s a little tough because some of these guys are just as powerful as Sinestro,’ but if there’s any way we can get these guys in so visually we can do some animation on them, let’s do it. Yellow is the color of fear in the DC Universe, and Sinestro and his Corps have the ability to wield it - usually against Green Lanterns. Banished for his crimes to the anti-matter universe of Qward, while in exile he managed to forge a power ring powered by the yellow light of fear. Unlike Tai Pham who is a newcomer to his Corps, Arkillo has a long and storied history with the Yellow Lanterns. With an overriding ambition to bring order to the universe, Thaal Sinestro was a respected Green Lantern who abused his power to make himself absolute overlord of his home world of Korugar. As drill sergeant, Arkillo punishes weaker recruits who failed him by eating them whole, definitely proving he's one of the most merciless members of the Sinestro Corps. Arkillo is essentially the Sinestro Corps version of Kilowog, as both are the drill sergeants for their Corps and large powerhouses even without their signature rings. The Lantern that Tai faces in "Dress Code" is the fearsome Arkillo, created by Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis and first appearing in 2006's Green Lantern #10. ![]()
